Cupid and Psyche, by Antonio Canova, Paris, Musée du Louvre
Passion. What pulls us onward into intimate relationship with the world we are born into? There are some who believe that we come from an unconditional love that nurtures yet is hidden from us all. We bring this into the world to share and from this need to share our interpretation of that, springs all manner of of adventure, drama, chaos, and life.
In this beautifully seductive poem we can hear the lure of the fulfillment of promises. As we move through our lives we are never abandoned by this need for fulfillment though we are indeed left bereft by our need to choose. We cannot escape our passions and we cannot escape our need to feel the radiant warmth and comfort of unconditional love that is there not to rescue but to aid us. In the end the passion and the consummate fire of love is discovered. The true desire that accompanied us through all manner of experience is embraced.
Thank you for listening.
Music: This video made to the song Kasmir by Led Zeppelin has art in it. This is why it is restricted. HeartoftheRose went to a great deal of trouble to put together this fabulous video. I've watched and listened to it many times. It is one of my favorite videos on YouTube and this poem by Hafiz, Looking For Good Fish, with its sweep of passion and touch of human seduction makes me think of it. I encourage you to listen and watch it. It is very beautiful!
