Humans are clever. We design stories around all of our experiences as we venture into our lives. Many of the stories we tell ourselves are told from a part of our lives when we are very young and these narratives become fixed as a kind of second nature to our organizing our thinking as we grow. A small umbrage at nine months of age can be built upon as a person grows. Decades down the line, this reaction to the irritation is accepted as a part of the person's personality without question.

The statement, "This is just who I am" is the fundamental obstacle that a person faces as they ask themselves important questions regarding how they are living a soulful life. With narratives in place that we have designed, we do not need to recognize that these designs - the stories we tell ourselves about who we are - are based in a fear that is either adopted or forced upon us when younger.

Djehuty outlines here how a person can tenderly and with courage unravel these inner doctrines and allow a person to consider optional ways of perceiving their life intention. Personal power and clarity of purpose allows room for love in a person's life. Victim consciousness requires a constant vigil to feed and cultivate fear.
