The process of preparing to live the life that we want to live is the real preparation for death. Time and our choices comprise the events of our lives as we age. We die as we have lived. I think it is a little easier to view how a life constructs itself if one should have the opportunity to live a long life. It simply becomes clearer in time what holds extraordinary value as the whistles and bells fade. As one's eyesight dims often one's scope of understanding and inner vision increases. I'm speaking only for myself, of course. Everyone has free will as a human and they are free to age (or not) as they will, driving the vehicle of the body through its mortal course. We are all, however, - every single one of us - a work in progress making choices and answering to each choice to the best of our abilities. Sometimes fumbling; sometimes dancing.

In this, the last excerpt of "Conscious Living, Conscious Dying", Djehuty offers up seven questions that invite contemplation upon many of the points previously introduced in this book. It is hoped that searching for the answers to these inquiries within oneself will provide the needed space for greater understanding required to live fully every day. The goal being to die knowing one did their very best to understand this very complex human journey.
