There are various degrees of caring about the big questions in life. Most people...many, I suspect, could care less if there is anything more to life than a clear sprint to good cup of coffee in the morning. That's fair. Waxing philosophical isn't everyone's jam, clearly. But for some the enticement of a wonder holds a kind of giddy sensuality in surrendering to the inquiry. It is an addiction, of sorts, to be in love with life. Consequently, it must be handled with discipline in such a way as to hold passion and not lure a person into an obsessive focus. And, like the desire for that first reassuring taste of that morning brew, there is a sense of fulfillment in pursuing greater understanding for those of us into that kind of thing.
