Who has not felt the flush of identification of realizing that one is actually in the presence of something worthy without needing it validated in anyway? That deep knowledge of being in line with oneself and one's intentions is a marvelous rush. It seems so easy when things happen within the flow of life. It feels like being in love. These moments stretch beyond time and space in their tenderness. It is rare.
To live in love is to live a life of great, sustainable, and abundant joy. I suppose, had we not come here to fumble around, forget ourselves and become lost, we could radiate benevolence like the sun itself. We do have our moments. We will learn to allow ourselves this source within us and, I believe, it will sustain us one day. In the interim we have art, curiosity and faith to merge with our mad skills to support us in our learning about compassion. We have Hafiz, loving his work and inviting us to love it, too.
Thank you for listening.
Music: I came upon this video of Alison Krauss and Yo Yo Ma playing a tender rendition of this classic song. It seems to fit here.
...And when we find ourselves
In the place just right
'Twill be in the valley
Of love and delight...
The lovely video of Oregon is by Vickie Burns.
