The Crack in the Glass, Part One

I'm my father's daughter whether he was in my life physically or not. I came by abandoning honestly. I inherited the issue by the circumstance of my birth so that I could transform this. All was of a design as was the extraordinary character and resiliency of my two sons. I sometimes think we were all born to help and escort each other through these tempestuous times. I've been gifted with a lot of help. I would learn eventually how to not abandon myself and those I love. I would learn how to respect my need for independence and balance it with cultivating intimacy but it has been a very long haul up a steep incline for us all. If I made any progress, I certainly did not do it alone and I'm humbled and appreciative.

Thank you for listening.

Music: The people in my life were often, angels disguised as regular folks, friends and relatives. I didn't appreciate them at the time they assisted me. I hadn't the reserves then. May I learn enough to be an asset to someone who needs kindness as much as I did then. The desire for success in anything requires a connection and to be oneself requires an idea of what that might look like. I was distanced from any ability to know any of these things at this time but I would find it in time. This video holds a lot of symbolism pertinent to my on going relationship with the lessons I was learning. I was also gifted a ticket in 1977 to see Yes live at the Portland Memorial Coliseum by two benevolent souls whose kindness far outstripped anything that I deserved at the time.

Watch it now

The eagle in the sky

How he dancin' one and only

You - lose yourself

No not for pity's sake

There's no real reason to be lonely

Be yourself

Give your free will a chance

You've got to want to succeed

Owner of a Lonely Heart - Yes

Thank you for joining me here. The memoir Different Ways: Revealing the Feminine can be purchased through my website using a link to Village Books at AlltheDifferentWays.com. There will soon be an eBook version available with an independent retailer. The e-book on Amazon is a bit of a mess but free if you are a Kindle member. Don't buy it. Parts are missing.

The BlogCast that outlines my intentions for this series of readings from my book, Different Ways, Revealing the Feminine can be found here in the post, Between the Lines.
